[UPDATED] <a href=\"https:\/\/keepmecertified.com\/blog\/how-to-renew-a-new-york-real-estate-license-in-2026\/\">How to Renew a NY Real Estate License in 2026<\/a> &#8211; These are the latest education requirements to renew a real estate license in 2026<\/p>\n<h3>The following credits must be completed as part of the 22.5 credits:<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>1 hour Recent Legal Matters<\/li>\n<li>3 hours of fair housing and\/or discrimination<\/li>\n<li>2.5 hours on ethical business practices (ie Code of Ethics)<\/li>\n<li>1 hour of Agency (2 if it&#8217;s your first renewal cycle)<\/li>\n<li>2 hours Cultural Competency<\/li>\n<li>2 hours Implicit Bias<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Other notable changes:<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Licensees are no longer &#8220;grandfathered&#8221; and exempt from completing continuing ed<\/li>\n<li>NY Attorneys in good standing are exempt from real estate continuing ed [unchanged]<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Recent Legal Matters Course<\/h3>\n<p>The <strong>Recent Legal Matters<\/strong> course is an entirely new requirement for the State of New York.
