Here are the three main themes covered:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Kansas real estate license renewal regulations<\/li>\n<li>Kansas real estate continuing education requirements<\/li>\n<li>And how to keep your Kansas real estate license active in 2022.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The Kansas Real Estate Commission mandates that within each two-year renewal cycle, every actively licensed Salesperson and Broker must complete a minimum of 12 hours of continuing ed credits to keep their Kansas real estate licenses active.<\/p>\n<p><strong>The 12 Continuing Ed hours must include:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>A minimum of three hours in an approved course titled: &#8220;Kansas Required Core.&#8221;<\/li>\n<li>Nine elective credit hours.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Renewing an Inactive Kansas Real Estate License<\/strong><br \/>\nRenewal of an inactive status does not require any continuing ed hours. If you wish to renew a currently active license as inactive, check the \u201cInactive Status\u201d box on the renewal application.<br \/>\nNote:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>In the event that a broker&#8217;s license has been inactive for two or more years, a total of six continuing ed hours will be required for each full year the license has been on inactive status and must be completed prior to reactivation.<\/li>\n<li>In addition to the above continuing ed hours, the regular 12 hours will also be required for the immediate past renewal period.<\/li>\n<li>If the license has been on inactive status for five years or more, the Kansas real estate license exam must be passed in addition to the continuing ed requirements listed above, all prior to reactivation.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Non-Resident Continuing Ed Requirements &#8211; For Reciprocal Real Estate Licenses<\/strong><br \/>\nAll continuing ed hours completed within a particular renewal period and in your resident state are accepted as elective hours for that same renewal cycle. However, continuing ed hours will not be waived for Kansas, even if they are waived in your resident state. To this effect, you will be required to submit an Individual Request <a href=\"https:\/\/krec.ks.gov\/forms\">form RE-800<\/a> to have nonresident continuing ed reviewed by the Kansas education department for credit.<br \/>\nNote:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Only a maximum of nine non-resident continuing ed hours can be accepted.<\/li>\n<li>Any continuing ed course taken before the issuance of a Kansas Broker\u2019s license will not count toward the renewal of the broker\u2019s license.<\/li>\n<li>Licensee must submit the Individual Request Form, fee, and all required documentation to kreceducation@ks.gov.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Kansas Real Estate Continuing Ed Records and Tracking Requirements<\/strong><br \/>\nTo process the request for your license, your record of credit completion must be present at the Kansas Real Estate Commission. To track your continuing ed credits, log in to your profile at www.krec.ks.gov. For those with licenses issued prior to January 1, 2019, the expiration date is the first day of the month following their previous expiration date. You can also easily check the expiration date of your Kansas real estate license <a href=\"https:\/\/licensing.ks.gov\/verification_krec\/\">here.<\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>Kansas Real Estate License Renewal Fees<\/strong><br \/>\nThe renewal of a Kansas real estate license costs $125.00 for salespersons and $175.00 for brokers.<br \/>\nNote:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Payments can be made by emailing or faxing your credit card\/electronic check information to the commission using form <a href=\"https:\/\/krec.ks.gov\/forms\">REL-200.<\/a>\u00a0Conversely, you could follow up by phone<\/li>\n<li>Renewing a Kansas real estate license can be completed online through <a href=\"https:\/\/licensing.ks.gov\/EGOV_KREC\/Login.aspx?ReturnUrl=%2fegov_krec\">Kansas&#8217;s elicense portal<\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Late Application Fee<\/strong><br \/>\nIf a broker&#8217;s license isn&#8217;t renewed before the expiration date, a $100 late fee is required in addition to the renewal fee.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>An expired license must be renewed within six months of expiration. If your expired license was deactivated by the previous broker, you must also submit the Renewal addendum on page 4 of the renewal application form to renew as active status.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Additional Information<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Continuing education credits do not roll over to the following licensing term.
