The current 2022-2024 renewal cycle for Connecticut real estate brokers and salespersons has new requirements and deadlines that we explain in this post.<\/p>\n

What are the real estate license renewal requirements for Connecticut licensees during the 2022-2024 cycle?<\/h3>\n

All continuing ed credits must be completed 90 days<\/strong> prior to a license expiring. This is a NEW requirement.<\/p>\n

Brokers<\/strong> must complete their continuing ed on or before August 30\u00a0<\/strong>on even numbered years (2024, 2026, etc).
\nBroker real estate licenses expire on November 30\u00a0<\/strong>annually.<\/p>\n

Salespersons<\/strong> must complete their continuing ed on or before February 28\u00a0<\/strong>on even numbered years (Feb 28, 2024).
\nSalesperson\u00a0real estate licenses expire on May 31 <\/strong>annually.<\/p>\n

Continuing ed must be completed by the dates listed above on every EVEN numbered year.<\/p>\n

What is the mandatory continuing ed course for the 2022-2024 renewal cycle?<\/h3>\n

\"2022-2024The mandatory continuing ed course for all Connecticut licensees to complete during the 2022-2024 renewal cycle is titled “CT Real Estate Agency Law<\/strong><\/a>“. This is a three credit-hour course that is approved to be taught live, live-online, AND asynchronous (on-demand). You may recall the previous mandatory course (Understanding and Preventing Racial Bias in Real Estate), produced by CTR, was required to be taught live only. This is NOT the case for the current mandatory course. This course can be completed in an online self-paced format. Keep Me Certified<\/a> offers this course in a self-paced online video format.<\/p>\n

    Licensees are still required to complete 12 credit hours, which means the remaining nine can be comprised of elective topics.<\/p>\n

    Who produced the curriculum for the CT Real Estate Agency Law course?<\/h3>\n

    A panel of industry experts across Connecticut was assembled by UCONN. The group met numerous times and the final curriculum was approved by the Connecticut Real Estate Commission (DCP) for the 2022-2024 renewal cycle .<\/p>\n

    What are the important dates for the current 2022-2024 real estate license renewal cycle?<\/h3>\n

    Salespersons<\/strong>: 6\/1\/22 – 5\/31\/24 – complete CE on or before 2\/28\/24
    \nBrokers<\/strong>: 4\/1\/22 – 11\/30\/24 – complete CE before 9\/1\/24<\/p>\n

    Who is exempt from completing continuing ed?<\/h3>\n

    You are exempt from completing CE only if you passed a CT real estate license exam during the current renewal period. Note: they use the date of your licensing exam, NOT the date your license was issued.<\/p>\n

    Do referral agents need to complete continuing ed?<\/h3>\n

    Yes, if you hold an active Connecticut real estate license and you intend to keep it active, you must complete the required continuing ed credits during the renewal cycle.<\/p>\n

    Will the state notify me of these changes? Probably…<\/h3>\n

    They say renewal notices will be emailed and mailed to all active salespersons approximately 30 – 45 days prior to the expiration date, but 30-45 days prior to the expiration date is already inside the 90 day window between completing CE and renewing, so unless they send out notifications sooner, consider this article our notice to you of the change in dates\/timing.
