\"\"Important: For the 2024-26 renewal cycle updates, click here<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n

Every two years, real estate licensees in South Carolina need to complete continuing education and renew their real estate license directly with SC LLR.\u00a0 For those on the current even numbered renewal cycle (2024, 2026, etc) requires licensees to complete 10 credit hours of continuing education. Four of these credits must be comprised of the mandatory course, titled Disclose Disclose Disclose<\/a>. The remaining six credits can be comprised of elective topics.<\/p>\n

For those who are on an even numbered year cycle, continuing education credits and license renewal must be completed by June 30, 2024 – don’t wait until the last minute.<\/p>\n

At the beginning of April, SC LLR sent out an email to all licensees, which we have included below. If you did not receive this email, make sure your email address on file with the commission is up to date.<\/p>\n

Here is the content of the email sent by SC LLR:<\/p>\n

Renewals will open April 1, 2024.<\/strong>\u00a0Licenses with a June 30, 2024, expiration date are up for renewal this year. The Commission will send license renewal notices via email and mail.<\/em><\/p>\n

Reinstatement Change: Licenses not renewed by June 30, 2024, will lapse on July 1, 2024<\/strong>.<\/em><\/p>\n

For licenses with a June 30, 2024, expiration date, failure to submit a complete renewal by midnight will result in the license being lapsed on July 1, 2024.<\/em><\/p>\n

The reinstatement period will run from July 1, 2024, to midnight, December 31, 2024. Failure to submit a complete reinstatement application on or before December 31, 2024, will result in license cancellation on January 1, 2025. This is in accordance with\u00a0S.C. Code Ann. \u00a740-57-110(D) & (E).<\/em><\/p>\n

Individuals with cancelled licenses\u00a0must\u00a0<\/strong>reapply with paper applications and meet all current requirements for licensure, including taking and passing the applicable examination again. An individual holding a lapsed license may not engage in the practice of real estate or property management per\u00a0S.C. Code Ann. \u00a7\u00a7 40-57-20\u00a0and\u00a040-57-780.<\/em><\/p>\n

Manage My License<\/a>: Contains information on how to transfer a license, update contact information, inactivate\/reactivate a license, request a certification of licensure, and register an alternate name.<\/em><\/p>\n
